Heavy Pickles, Big Yaks, and a $7 Tent

There is a Thai restaurant on the way to Target that has a giant golden soybean pod out front. It's probably 5 feet high. The restaurant is on a corner where there is a stoplight. Each time we stop at that light, Libby says "Pickle! Is big. Is hebby. Unh! I can't wift it." When the light turns green and we pull away, Libby says "Bye Pickle!"

On the way to Jaina's pediatrician (yes, we had to go for more shots today), there is a steakhouse with a GIANT buffalo statue out front. 8 feet, probably. The left turn by that restaurant takes ages, so Libby gets ample time to talk about the buffalo, which she calls a "Yak". "Oh, a Yak! Is big. Is hebby. Unh! I can't wift it. Oh, gwass! Is food. Food Yak. Eat gwass. Gwass food. Is gwoss."

Today I put Libby down for her nap and asked her what (1) song she wanted me to sing. Instead of telling me, she started humming "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star". So I started to sing and instead of singing along, she made silly noises to the tune. It was making me laugh so hard I could barely sing. Then she started laughing so hard she couldn't make the noises anymore.

Today at Target I was perusing the clearance toy aisles. Last time I found some of the Schleind animals Libby collects for $1.37 each, instead of $6. Anyway, there wasn't much too exciting, and I was getting ready to leave the aisle when I spotted a box with Dora the Explorer on it. I picked it up and it was one of those fabric pop-up play tents, with a 4-ft mesh crawl tube connected to it. I looked at the tag and it was marked down from $30.00 to $7. I snatched that sucker right up. It's garish and ugly, but the girls LOOOVE it. Jaina gets a kick chasing Libby through the tunnel. I'll get some pics someday.

Jaina is still cute and sweet. She loves to eat and play and stand up in the middle of the floor. When Libby tries to get Jaina to chase her, Jaina always stands up first, like she's trying to figure out how to run like Libby. Then she drops to all fours and takes off. She does this thing now where she shakes her head from side to side while crawling. It's really, really cute.

One more story, then I'm done. I was trying to get Libby to bring me her socks and shoes so we could go get Jaina's shots today. She picked one sock, and I held out my hands so she could throw it to me. Instead, she came running and threw herself in my arms, wrapped her arms around my neck and gave me a big hug. Then she grabbed her sock and ran away laughing. I got down on the floor to grab her and ended up literally tackling her. She laughed so hard, she probably wet herself. Fun times!
