The other day at the library storytime, Malachi had a duck puppet and was walking around to all the babies and giving them "duck kisses" by placing the duck's beak on the babies' cheeks and making kissing noises. Thankfully he was very gentle and the moms appeared to be charmed. His vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds, and he repeats everything, good or bad, that comes out of my mouth.
Jaina is sweet, but loud. The girl just doesn't know how to talk quietly. 99% of my napping attempts are foiled by her just being loud. She plays well with Libby and with Malachi and is at this moment pretending to be Libby's puppy dog. Other times she's a kitty. Or Firestar (from spider-Man and His Amazing Friends). She wants to be Firestar for Halloween. She likes to draw and is actually pretty good for a three-year-old. she laughs a lot, and still has that deep, throaty laugh that just cracks me up.
Libby is a weed. It's impossible to find pants that fit her long legs and skinny waist. I finally found some "Jeggings" (Jean leggings) at Target, and while they are baggy instead of snug, they stay on her waist and are a good length. I wouldn't want them tight like the designers intended anyway, so I'm happy with them, and so is she. She gets tired of always having to hike her pants up :). We are on a school break until after Thanksgiving, and during this time she's started to learn how to read. I can't really say I'm teaching her, because she's figuring most of it out on her own. She likes the BOB books and last week read most of "Go, Dog, Go!". She was very proud, and so was I! We pull out her workbooks every now and again for her to do phonics or math or handwriting, but for the most part we're just reading.
The girls are getting impatient about the baby's arrival. They keep asking me "when are you going to squeeze the baby out?" "Is it the baby's birthday today?" "I want the baby to be born". Me, too!

I realize that I don't deserve any sympathy in this whole situation, but I'M GOING TO GO CRAZY IF THIS LITTLE GUY DOESN'T GET BORN SOON!!!!!
What a cute picture of the kids! Doesn't this kid know that 10/10 would have been the ideal birthday. I guess since he missed it, there's no hurry now. Good luck! Can't wait to hear the exciting news whenever it happens!
