Thanksgiving 2011, and other stuff

It was a quiet Thanksgiving for us this year, and we didn't mind it that way!  The girls and I spent the morning making a cornucopia, or "Horn of Plenty" as the girls call it.  They filled it with all the good foods they are grateful for.  They also made handprint turkey pictures.  You can see Libby's sticking out of the pineapple below.
Dinner was a simple affair - a small turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, fruit salad, roasted asparagus, corn, and rolls.  I made fruit bars for John's dessert and bought frozen pie for the kids and me.  Frozen pie is definitely the way to go!

A couple weeks before Thanksgiving I took the girls for their first professional haircuts. I was tired of the hack-job that was Jaina's constant look.

Last week I took Isaac for his 2 month checkup.  He was in the 95% for weight (14 lb, 6 oz), and off the charts for height (25 1/4 in).  As John said "yeah, he's our kid".  He's smiling now and starting to coo, and he's just so cute!  He's very mild-tempered, and sleeps fairly well.  We're still exhausted all the time, though!  Jaina acts like a little mommy, always loving on him and wanting to hold him and change his diaper, etc.

 Next up: Christmas!
