You know you live in the city...

...When it takes 15 minutes to drive 3 blocks. And I'm not exaggerating. I timed it. That's how my final OB visit with Doctor I-Hope-I-Never-See-You-Again ended. Here's how that visit started: I arrived, the first patient of the day, at 8:30. I got called back and put in a room at 9. The doctor came in at 9:25. He was with me a total of two minutes. He made eye contact once. I left the room, got my records from the clerk, and left at 9:30. Is that ridiculous or what? I couldn't help but smile as I got on the elevator. Barring an emergency, I'll never have to see that man again.

Anyway, the one bright spot amidst the angst, I got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. Nice and strong.

On a happier note, I have my next appointment scheduled at the Birth Center for May 5th, and this morning sheduled my ultrasound for June 1st. Tune in in two months to find out if I'm having a girl or a boy. Then begin the name polls! Fun times!

Don't get me started on the doctor's office! I love my midwives and will never change unless I absolutely have to.
