An Abundance of Snot

Jaina and Libby's colds seem to be on the way out. Thankfully, Jaina only had that one croupy night. Now we are battling the snot wars, chasing down our kids with tissues before they can wipe their faces on the furniture, their hands, or us. Jaina especially makes a break for it when she sees a tissue heading her way.

John and I also caught colds. Mine is mild and is already almost completely gone. John's seems to have a stronger hold. I can't believe we made it all winter without being sick, then at the first sign of warm weather we all got sick!

Jaina finally started walking again on Thursday. I was worried that she had given up on walking after so many days of not having the strength to even stand. But now she's all over the place, with balance better than before the whole ordeal began.

Jaina also started sleeping through the night 4 nights ago. I have been talking to friends and thinking of a strategy to implement after the move. Libby started sleeping through the night on her own when she was around 8 months old, so I didn't really know what to do with Jaina. But it seems she has figured it out on her own. No complaints here!

We found a house in Texas that we really like. A friend of ours met with the realtor (who is also the owner) and took a bunch of pictures for us. We talked to him yesterday and got his opinion. He says it's a great house in very good condition in a quiet, well-kept neighborhood. And there is a park with a playground directly across the street. Does it get much better? Now, usually I wouldn't trust a man to find a house for me, but Rob is especially observant. He noted condition of the carpet, bathrooms, kitchen, sizes of bedrooms and living room, placement of doors and windows. I trust his opinion and his judgement. So last night we decided to go ahead with the lease application, even though we haven't actually seen the house in person. Rob had said there was a lot of traffic at the house, and we know the price is amazing and that it won't last long on the market. John talked to the realtor/owner last night and she will be sending the application to John today. We're hoping she will be willing to hold the house for us until May. We'll be tempting her with a two-year lease, so I think it's a reasonable request. If it all works out, the best thing will be that John won't have to go out to Dallas for a week to house-hunt, which means we'll be together for Easter this year.

Love the title of this post. Too funny. :) Hope everyone gets well soon. Keep us posted on the house hunting. Sounds like fun. Good luck with it all. You're a brave woman.
