See that cool little graphic at the top of my blog? That's called a Pregnancy Ticker. A friend of ours asked last night if I was going to put one on my blog like I did when I was pregnant with Jaina because he learned so much from it. So I found a new one that not only shows development, but adds a little humor, too. And today, I needed a little humor.
I had my 10-week appointment today. After my last appointment I wasn't too impressed with my doctor. Now I can't stand him. He obviously dislikes children, and freaked out because Libby was eating crackers in the exam room. During the ultrasound (which was supposed to check the size of some ovarian cysts, but he didn't even look at them), Libby stood on her chair so she could see the screen. The doctor stopped the ultrasound (it lasted maybe a minute) and said "I'm too distracted worrying about her, I can't concentrate". So John didn't get to see the baby, which was the whole reason he came to the appointment. The doctor didn't print a picture for me, either. Then he started in on screening for Down's Syndrome soon and doing an amniocentesis after my 28 week appt because I'll be 27 when the baby is born" (my mom's response to that? "What, 27 is too old to have a baby?") I told him I don't do screenings and reminded him that we will be moving in April and that I will only have one more appointment with him. I may have been imagining things, but I think he looked relieved. He said some more stupid things and left. John said "he is horrible!" and on the way out we agreed that this was the worst experience we have ever had with a doctor.
I'm technically supposed to have 2 more appointments before we move, but I'm delaying the last one by a week so I can go to the Birth Center in Texas. The less I see of Dr. Randell, the better.

That's terrible! I can't wait til you're back with your good doctors. Sorry you had to deal with that.
