A Good Cry

Nothing like A Good Cry to make you feel better. I had one after writing yesterday's post and came out of it totally relaxed and refreshed. Yesterday afternoon was long, Libby took a great nap, but Jaina didn't, which meant I didn't get the nap I so desperately needed. But it was all OK. And when Libby woke up the sun was shining (literally) so I kicked the kids out back to dig in the dirt. And they got filthy and had a great time, and then I plopped them in the tub, which apparently is something many of you do on rainy days.

Dinner was a casual whatever-you-can-put-your-hands-on affair, and I was thankful for the tub of ready-made mac n cheese I got from Target Saturday. It wasn't as good as Mom's, but it was better than Kraft. The girls went to bed on time and after shutting Hobbit in the garage I got in bed with some Strawberry Hagen Daaz and my worn-out "Gone With The Wind" paperback.

My sister-in-law yesterday told me that my well-being was much more important than my cat's weight. I took her advice and gave Hobbit some dry food to see him through the night. Hobbit was quiet all night, but started making noise at 5. He stopped after a few seconds, but it was enough to wake me up and keep me that way for a while. He started up again at 6, so I let him in the house, but then he kept coming in my room and crying. I finally fell asleep around 6:30, and Jaina woke up at 7.

My kids are extremely cranky this morning. Already there have been many tears in the hour they have been awake. But I'm feeling more in control of things, and myself, and I think today will be OK. There is some crazy wind today, so I think we'll stick to the backyard again. And tomorrow John comes home. Can't wait to see him!

Being tired seriously totally sucks the patience out of you. Once you get to the barely functioning stage it gets even worse. Glad you got a better night's sleep and that John will be home soon!

There is nothing better than when the sunshine comes out...both literally and mentally!
