Such a Man

This morning John asked me to get Libby dressed while he took a shower. "Her dress and shoes are on her bed", he said to me. I opened the drawer in the bathroom and asked him what dress he had picked out so I could choose what ribbon or barretts to put in Libby's hair. "The black and white one", he said. "The long-sleeved one with flowers?" "Um, no, it's short sleeved. I don't think it has flowers". I was racking my brain trying to think what other black-and-white dress Libby had hanging in her closet. "I'm pretty sure it's acrylic" he added. I was sure there was no short-sleeved, black-and-white acrylic dress in Libby's closet. "Are you sure it's not long-sleeved, with flowers, 100% cotton?" I asked, walking to Libby's room. "Yes!" he said, "what do I get if you're wrong?" "A kiss", I said.

I walked into Libby's room and called for John. He walked in, and I held up the dress. "Long sleeves!" I said, holding up a sleeve. "Flowers!" I said, pointing to the flowers. "100% cotton!" I said, rubbing the dress on his arm. And then I started to laugh. "You are such a man!"

Well, he laid it out on her bed and chose her shoes. That's probably more than 80% of men would do, right?

And that "Man-ness" is evident from the time they're two and you can ask them to get something for you... It can be two inches away from them and they won't see it.
