I received some hard news this past week, and found myself having a difficult time staying on top of life. When things get hard like that, we cut school down to the "bare bones" - math, reading, LA, scripture, and spanish. It gives me time to get my mind back in the game without falling behind in the important things. The girls were a big help, giving me extra time in the mornings to sleep, and helping with meals and chores. Now that life is back to normal for the time being, I'm excited to jump into "Owl Moon" the next two weeks! I've got some great activities planed - from dissecting owl pellets to putting on a shadow puppet show!
The kids are progressing so much in Martial Arts. Their instructor thinks they will be ready to test for their yellow belts soon. John is taking the morning off tomorrow so he can go with us to class and watch them in action. We've also gotten back into gymnastics, which they LOVE. I'm really looking forward to next October when Isaac will be able to join gymnastics - then I'll have two hours a week of just sitting on the couch with my book...

Another project for this week is to make some gluten-free pretzel rolls for John. I've finally got my supplies ready, and I'm all psyched up! John is excited, I'm dreading it a little. I'm not a fan of baking in general, really not a fan of gluten-free baking! Hopefully I won't totally bungle it and John will be happy with the results. Hopefully I won't just throw it all in the trash and leave the house in a tiff, which is usually what I WANT to do when I'm in the middle of GF baking...
I'll keep you posted!
