Malachi likes to lay in bed with me while I wake up. He always makes sure to have his own covers. And yes, that is John's Star Wars pillowcase Malachi is laying on. I bought it for him for Christmas. We're real mature around here.
Aunt Ann sent us some old chevron cars. The kids got a kick out of playing with these at their Grandparent's house. I couldn't find them at any gas stations on the way home, but you can buy them online for $8.99 a pop. I asked Ann if she had any she wanted to pass along. She happened to have duplicates of 5 models and was happy to share them with us. The play with them constantly.
My birthday present finally arrived! A gorgeous Vera Bradley bag. The picture doesn's do it justice. But I love it! And then Libby had a birthday (see previous post). It was fun!
Malachi iPhoned with John. Malachi also called John and the Vera Bradley store one day this week. Stinker.
We went to the sprayground two days this week. Libby loved it.
Jaina loved it.
Malachi sat with me in the shade and ate the whole time. He's not a huge fan of water in any form other than in a cup.
Jaina was worn out that second day. She passed out in my arms after lunch. I used my phone's camera to see if she was really asleep. My hand was shaking, so I didn't get a very good picture, but it's something I want to remember.
The kids all watched something on Netflix. Probably Godzilla. Such sweet, tender girls I am raising.
Then one morning Libby said in her prayer, "please bless that we can go to the zoo today". How can you say no to that? So we went to the zoo. Climbing on the elephant statues come second only to the kid's river.
Malachi discovered the Big Cats. I had to literally drag him away, all the while him screaming "cat-cat! cat-cat!". Libby got to pet a giraffe. They all had a blast at the river, but I didn't take any pictures of that.
The next day we went to storytime at the library. It was all about dinosaurs. I folded a mountain of laundry. I should have taken a picture of that, it was quite an undertaking! Friday we went to the chiro and then the playground. Saturday John took the kids to the mall for 4 hours so I could stay home and sew. I barely made a dent in my "to-do" pile. I am monumentally worn out. But we really had a great week. We even had school every day. Only 4 more weeks of that left. we're finishing up late because we took off most of May for visitors/travel/preparing or recovering from visitors/travel. I'm glad not all of our weeks are like this!
