Meanwhile, back at the hotel...

Hobbit seemed to do well without us gone, but since he is not completely toilet trained yet, a scrubbing of the bathtub was in order. He is back to his routine now, and I will be removing the next ring of his potty tray in a few days. By the time we get into our apartment, he will be completely potty trained. Yippee! I still don't have a picture of him doing the deed, but I will get one, I promise. This morning he was stalking birds in the tree outside our window. Poor guy used to be such a great hunter, but ever since we grounded him to the house after the flea invasion of 2003, his talents have been mostly wasted. He still gets the occasional house mouse, but since being in the hotel, and once we move to our third floor apartment, the mice will be no more. Poor kitty. Here he is looking wistfully at those tasty birds:

Libby is so happy to be home (as am I). When we got to our car from the airport, she was pointing all around inside and talking up a storm, as if to say "Hey, I remember this! This is our car! Are we going home now? Are we?" She has been pulling out every single toy and stuffed animal we have here and carrying them around the suite. She is also still very cranky. I think it will take a few days to get things back to normal. Strange to be excited to get back to a hotel room.

Yesterday we had some excitement. I went to place the trash in the hallway for pickup and I looked down and found this little guy:
I caught him in a cup and brought him in. He is a baby House Gecko, native to the Mediterranean, but invasive to the southern USA. Very commonly found in Texas homes and businesses (I looked hom up online). He is about and inch and a half long, including his tail. I wanted to keep him, but our aquarium is still in storage. I found out they are pretty cheap to buy (and maybe easy to catch) and cheap to feed, so John said that when we move into our apartment and I have my job, we can get all we need for one, and then bring one home. I am so happy! I have wanted a gecko for over 10 years! My screen name online is commonly geckogirl, and my first car was named The Green Gecko. Woo-hoo!

On the job front - I have applied for a job at the Plano Police Department as a Police Records Assistant. The hours are from 5 pm to 1:30 am M-F. This will allow me to be at home with Libby during the day, and take a nap, too! We will have to find someone to watch her when John goes out of town, but I don't think that will be too difficult. We found out what ward we will be moving into, so we are going to begin attending and hopefully find a great high school senior or college student living at home who wants to make the occasional buck and doesn't mind sleeping over. It will also be the highest hourly pay I have been paid, and I am more than qualified for it, so I feel I have a really good chance.

On the tooth front - I was supposed to go in yesterday to get my permanent crowns and be fitted for my night guard, but since I had been puking scant hours before my appointment, I canceled. They need such a large chunk of time (4 hours!) that they weren't able to schedule me until next Friday. One more week, just one more week...

On the house front - we received and offer yesterday that was too low, so we countered with an offer today that will hopefully be accepted. If it is, we should only lose about $200. I am never buying a house again! I hate selling!

Please keep us in your prayers, we need them so badly!

Good luck on the house.
