Our trip to NC

Disclaimer: These photos (with the exception of the spaghetti ones) were taken with my cell phone and may not be the best quality. If you don't like blurry photos, then you are more than welcome to send me a nice digital camera, I won't complain!

One of our first days in NC, Libby and I went to the mall with mom to go "walking". When we passed the merry-go-round, Libby couldn't stop looking at it. Mom convinced me to take Libby on, which wasn't a tough job since I LOVE MERRY-GO-ROUNDS!!! Here we are on the horse Mom picked for us (I wanted the brown, but Mom said it didn't show up well in the picture, so we moved):
Libby was a little unsure at first, but seemed to enjoy herself throughout the ride. When it came time to get off - meltdown city! We got her strapped in her stroller and still the tears came:

Mom bought her a new baby doll to calm her down. Aren't Nana's awesome? After some more "walking", we went home for some lunch. Mom cooked some hot dogs, and while I was cleaning up from that I heard hysterical laughing coming from the dining room. I went to check it out and found this:
Libby was picking up each piece of hot dog, biting it in half, and feeding the other half to Mezzo. I don't know who was happier, Libby or Mezzo! I do miss having that dog around, Libby loved using him as a jungle gym, and he didn't mind one bit when she sat on his head or stood on his back, which are two things I am not very fond of her doing to me.

One night I went to check on Libby before going to bed, and was once again astounded at the convoluted postures she can sleep in. Here is an example:
Joyce and I went out to dinner one night and left Libby in the care of Uncle Mike. These are the pics he sent of Libby having dinner while we were out:
My girl likes to eat!
While on the subject of eating, here is proof of how much Libby loves balloons - she won't let go even to eat!
One day, cousin Angelina came over to play for a bit while Grandma got he hair done. Libby had a great time playing and reading with her cousin:
After we were NC for a week, John joined us for Labor Day weekend. Libby was very happy to see her daddy at the airport (with a balloon, of course).
One time we were taking my little brother back to his dorm and he let Libby borrow his sunglasses for the drive:

All in all, it was a pretty awesome trip. I got to have dinner with my old RS Presidency, and we did what we do best, talked and talked and talked. Libby had a great time swapping binkies with MG once again. They were too cute together, and even exchanged a few hugs. Before we moved, Libby would push MG away when MG tried to hug her. John's parents also came for a few days towards the end, which was really great. We really miss being able to see them whenever we want like we did when we lived in Georgia! Libby enjoyed her walk with Grandpa and loved sitting on Grandma Judy's lap!

Early in the morning (as in 2:30 am) on the day we left for Texas, I got violently ill. I do not suggest anyone make a flight with a 101 degree fever, diarrhea, and vomiting. It's not fun for anyone involved. Luckily, I always made it to the bathroom in time, so the little white puke bag remained unused. People probably thought I was scared to fly instead of sick. When we got back to the hotel I crashed and slept all afternoon. John got Libby fed and down for her nap before going in to work. I am still having some bad stuff, but am much improved. I am so thankful I made it home in one piece, if 10 pounds lighter!

Sadly, due to tight schedules, illness, and a very, very cranky baby who cried through almost each visit we made, I wasn't able to see everyone I wanted to see. We did get to go back to Garner Ward on Sunday, and that made me oh so happy! Rachel, you hang in there, you look awesome girl!

Kristin, it was so fun to see you! What a neat surprise! As for the trip home, you are a better woman than I am. I would NOT have flown--no way, no how. What a mess! Glad you're home and feeling better. And YAY about the house. You deserve some good news after all that. :)
