Driving In Atlanta Will Either Kill Me Or Make Me The World's Most Aggressive Driver

Obviously, since I'm typing this, we made it to Atlanta in one piece. It got a bit hairy at times, but two long days of driving, a nasty hotel room, a missed exit or two (or four) later, we are settled in our fancy-schmancy apartment. Almost settled, anyway. I've got everything unpacked and put away except the clothes. Laundry everywhere! We've had some issues with Hobbit figuring out where to potty, but I think he's OK now. We also have to switch out a few handles on the doors, replacing them with knobs so we can put gaurds on them so Libby can't get out of the apartment in the middle of the night. And her room has a door to the patio. As if we needed that little stress :)

I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with all the unpacking/keeping girls happy/getting used to a new place, but all-in-all, I am very happy to be here with John. Once everything is put away I will be feeling a little more in control of life.

Today we walked to the park about a block away from the apartment. It is so big and so green, and there are so many trees! Man, I have missed the great big tree-y southeastern landscape! We went to a great playground and Libby played for over an hour. Then we walked to the "Green Market", a little farmer's market they have each week. We bought some homemade gluten-free pasta, some fresh buffalo mozzerella, and some home-grown Roma tomatoes. John went to Trader Joe's this afternoon and brought home a fresh basil plant for me. I think tomorrow's dinner is going to be pretty yummy! Libby likes to pluck basil leaves off the plant and eat them. I can't believe she likes such a strong taste!

We have a huge patio that overlooks the courtyard, which has a large fountain in the middle of it. At night the fountain lights up. We like to leave the patio door open so we can hear the water. All day long Libby comes in and out, and each time she goes out she says "Bye, see you later!". I put our sidewalk chalk out there and she just plays with the chalk and her cars. The weather has stayed in the high 70's so far, so having the door open does not result in a stifling hot apartment.

We really like our apartment, especially the kitchen. It is huge! It's bigger than my Mom's kitchen! We are going to be so spoiled when we move out. One weird thing about the kitchen - there was no microwave. So we made a trip to Target to acquire one. The only thing missing now are ceiling fans. Guess you can't have it all :)
