I don't care if she's sick, we're going to the zoo dangit!

Saturday dawned cloudy, high sixties, and brought fevers to three out of the fourr residents of
our home. I refused to let a few fevers, episodes of diarrhea on Libby's part, and a massively snotty nose on Jaina's part deter us from one last visit to the zoo in 2008. And it turned out to be a great visit. The clouds kept most people away, so we pretty much had free reign. John carried Jaina in the Ergo, and she actually napped better than she had all week since she could breathe better sitting upright in the Ergo than she could laying down in bed. Libby did fine, no potty issues while we were out. She had one tantrum in the reptile house which was cured by a peanut-butter sandwich. Libby was able to prove that she is indeed potty trained, at least for the poop half. Thank goodness for that!

We got to see an elephant training demonstration at the zoo, and we also got to see the mommy panda for the first time. Baby is finally old enough for his mom to leave him alone sometimes. We can still only see the baby on live feed tv, but it was real nice to finally see the mom. She was big! She sat right up against the glass while eating her bamboo. The lions were sleepy, but we did get to see one of the cubs. They have gotten so big since the last time we went. The otters (my favorite) were out and frisky, as were the baby gorillas. It started to sprinkle just as we were leaving. It was a great morning.
