After a mostly sleepless night thanks to a restless and cranky Jaina, John got up at 6 am so he could go to Walmart for my Christmas gift. He was also able to pick up one of Libby's presents that we didn't get on Amazon. After he got home, we decided to take Libby to The Factory, a great big arcade/laser tag/bowling alley/go carts/etc. place near his parent's house. Soon after we made that decision, Libby tripped and smacked her face on a stool and got her first ever bloody nose. It didn't last long, but Libby and myself got pretty well covered in blood. Once we got everyone cleaned up, John and the girls and I went to Zaxby's for lunch, then I dropped John and Libby off at The Factory. Jaina and I went to Kmart, where I found a fleece jacket for Libby for $5 and a Christmas gift for Jaina. Then I met John and Libby at The Factory.
Libby had spent most of her time in the "Foam Factory", sliding down a giant inflatable slide, which John said caused major wedgies. There was a little infant area with large foam blocks and tunnels, and Jaina had a great time scooting around in there and chewing on foam balls. After a while, Libby finally got tired of the slide, so I popped Jaina in the Ergo on my back, and we played arcade games. I rocked at The Chicken Coop, and we amassed enough tickets to buy Libby a little pink sparkly snake (her choice).
After The Factory, we went to Whistle Stop Mall to look for a nativity. Libby fell asleep in the stroller while eating ice cream. We didn't find what we were looking for, and Jaina was getting hungry, so we left.
While we were gone, John's mom was hard at work making a GF apple pie, a pecan pie using my great-grandmother's recipe, and a pumpkin pie. The GF crust was the first good pie crust John has ever had. We were all very happy he could enjoy his pie. We all enjoyed pie. Over and over again.
That night after the girls were in bed, I decided I needed to open my Christmas present (a light blue Nintendo DS Lite with the Brain Age game) early, just to make sure it worked. It did, and I proceeded to play it quite a bit over the rest of the weekend.
