Temper, Temper

Lately Libby has been expressing her frustration through screaming, throwing things, and occasionally, hitting John or myself. Today, John and I were in the dining room talking, when Libby ran in from the living room, smacked John on the leg, then collapsed to the floor crying. John looked at me and said "did she hit me because she's mad?". Yep. We knelt down and explained that hitting is unacceptable, that if she is angry or frustrated, there are other ways to communicate that. Who knows what a 16-month old understands? It's good practice for us, anyway. So, while we were talking to her, she sat up and handed John her binky. "That's an apology" I said to him, then told her to give him loves, which she promptly did. If it's this bad at 16 months, how bad will it be at 16 years? Yikes!

Just wait, they say terrible two's....I think 3 year olds are worse but nevertheless that is the fun of it all! That we might have joy even during the terrible 2's and 3's

Yep, I might have to agree with the three year old thing being toughtest. But then again, they're really starting to come into their own at that age and are SO MUCH FUN! Good luck :)
