Yep, we got snow last night. It started as rain (all day!), then turned into sleet, and finally, around 9 pm it became snow. Ugly, slushy, horizontal-in-the-wind snow. The roads were already soaked, and the snow wasn't sticking to the pavment. Eventually the temperature dropped enough that the roads simply turned icy. We ended up with about an inch of snow on the grass and rooftops, but none on the roads. The temp started climbing above freezing before dawn, so the roads aren't icy, just gross. Hey, North Carolina, you now that lovely weather we sent you? You know, the warm breeze, the sunshine, the open-your-windows-and-smell-Spring weather you are currently enjoying? We'd like it back now. Thanks.
John decided to give the roads a chance to clear up before going in to work. We all slept like rocks last night. I'm not sure what time Libby woke up, because John was already up so he got her out of bed and fed and I got to sleep until 8. 8 am! Vast improvement over yesterday mornings' early wakings and tossing and turnings and being up with Libby from 4-6 am. I'd like another helping of last night, please.
In warmer news, I ordered this afghan off of Craigslist for $8:

It was meant to be for Baby Sprout. We picked it up from our complex office on Saturday on the way to go grocery shopping. I opened it in the car, we oohed and aahed "feel how soft it is, so thick and heavy, what a nice warm blanket this will be". I put it back in the box and tossed it into the back seat. Libby wedged her hand between the box flaps and pulled the blanket out and bundled it in her lap. The rest of the trip, every time we got in the car, the blanket was immediatly dragged into her lap. When we got home, she dragged it around the living room. When it was time for bed, she picked it up and dragged it into bed. The afghan now belongs to Libby. Each night she arranges it just so when she gets into bed, making sure no parts are hanging off the edges. Goofy girl. You just never know what your kids are going to get attached to, huh? Libby already had an afghan, a pink one made for me by my Grandmother when I was born. I guess Sprout gets that one now! Not even born yet and her sister is already taking her things. Shameful.
Oh, and here's a picture of Libby eating a carrot. Just 'cause it's cute.
