Where, Oh Where, Has My Little Blog Gone?

Yeah, yeah, I know it seems like forever since I last posted. When I'm not running around after Libby I'm trying to visit friends and family, and when I'm not doing that, I'm trying to sleep, which isn't working out so well!

Monday saw us safely to Mom and Dad's a little before noon. I stopped at a rest area about an hour away and as I was brushing crumbs off of Libby in the parking lot, a car pulled up behind my van and the driver said "Are you Kristin?" I looked up and wouldn't you know it, there was John's old boss from the Credit Union! She had seen me driving (she was on her way to Raleigh from Ashville) and followed me until I stopped so she could talk to me. How crazy is that? Good thing we were heading in the same direction! It was great to see her. I'm going to try to make it up to the office before I leave so I can see all those great people we left behind when we moved to Texas.

Monday evening just about the entire family came over for an Easter party/ FHE. It was nuts! So many cousins! Libby was a bit overwhelmed by it all, but had a great time. Until one of the cousins tried to "help" Libby by carrying her up the stairs and they both fell down about half a flight. Wooden stairs, no less. I think Libby broke Kiera's fall with her head. Both survived, Libby with a huge goose-egg and Kiera with a fat lip. I think the cousins finally learned what I had been telling them all night - Libby can go up and down the stairs on her own. If you mess with her, you could make her fall. All the cousins were upset by the tumble, but chaos soon resumed.

Tuesday we hung out with Mom, helping her with some shopping to prepare for Saturday's big Enrichment Activity. Another cousin came over after school to visit for a few hours. I think Libby was all cousined out from the night before and went through periods of not wanting to play or be talked to. Libby discovered a great new game: throwing dog food for Mezzo. She grabs a handful out of his food bin, stands in the kitchen and yells "Gah! Gah!" (dog, dog) until he comes in, then she throws the food one piece at a time and laughs while he scrambles around trying to find it. They played it for about an hour. Mom and Dad decided that would be his dinner.

Tuesday night Mom and I and Libby went to the Garner Ward's Enrichment night, where I got to see so many of my friends. I was so happy! During dinner we talked about birthin' babies and all that entails and basically had a great time. I look forward to seeing a lot of them again on Saturday. Libby went to the nursery but after about 30 minutes had had enough. I think she was still freaked by all of Monday's "new" people. She didn't really want anything to do with her old buddies and screamed when I took her into the nursery. So she came to hang out with the old folks.

Yesterday Libby and I went out with my sister to shop for an Easter dress for my niece. No luck. We walked way too much for this pregnant lady, but we had a good time. Libby and I got a nice nap after, and when we woke up we went to Joyce's house. We left Libby in the care of her Uncle Mike and went out for some way yummy Mexican. Then we went back and picked up Libby and came back to my Mom and Dad's and watched a movie after putting Libby to bed. It was so great to spend time with her again!

Today's agenda: I begin slicing the 23 pounds of grapes for Saturday's chicken salad. 23 pounds. That's almost Libby's weight in grapes. Sad. I meant to borrow one of Joyce's awesome knives, but forgot until just now. Woops.

So now you know - we're still alive, having a hectic, wonderful time, and missing John terribly. More later!

I've missed the updates, but it was so fun to see you the other night! Wish we could have visited longer. I know how it is when you visit family, though. There just isn't enough time to do everything you'd like to fit in. Sounds like you're a big help this week, though. Lucky for your mom. :) See you Saturday!

Sorry to take Lauren and Gregery away from you for the weekend, but we had a great time. Glad you are getting a chance to visit with your family. I love being able to hear how you are doing.
