Wednesday I woke up with a killer migraine. It started with me seeing shimmery light patches, then progressed to sensitivity to light and sound, and nausea. It wasn't too bad, as long as I kept my right eye shut and didn't look at anything with my left eye. Wearing sunglasses helped some as well. Since I don't get migraines very often, and since I have never, ever had one this bad, I don't have any magraine medication. So I doped up on BC powder and Aleve. Luckily, John was working from home that day and I was able to go back to bed until the migraine went away.
Since we weren't sure if I would be in any condition to travel on Thursday, we told John's parents to not go out of their way to make anything for us that they wouldn't normally do for themselves. Luckily, I woke up Thursday only with what my sister calls a "migraine hangover". I whipped up a loaf of GF bread for John and got us packed while John cleaned and loaded the car. We hit the road and made it to John's parents' house just in time for the Thanksgiving meal. And it was wonderful. We had turkey, gravy, potatoes, sweet potatoes, homemade cranberry sauce and relish, green beans, corn, and homemade rolls. Oh man. Jaina enjoyed small pieces of bread and chunks of sweet potatoes. Libby ate a roll and not much else.
Late that night John and I did most of our Christmas shopping on Amazon and made plans for the rest, while his parents enjoyed the girls. A good time was had by all.
