Multi-lingual-ness

You all know Libby uses the Spanish word "gato" instead of "cat". She also speaks French! Libby has a stuffed dragon that says "good morning" and "good night" in English, Spanish and French. Libby has learned "bonne nui" from that toy. How cool is that? Yeah, I know I'm bragging, but come on, it's cool isn't it?

Libby also speaks animal. The bulk of her vocabulary is made up of animal names and their sounds. She roars, barks, meows, growls, oinks, quacks, ribbits, trumpets like an elephant, and when she sees a lizard she sticks her tongue in and out.

"Apple" is one of her clearest words, learned just last week. Today I asked if she wanted a banana and she replied "nana". Today John started singing "If You're Happy and You Know It" and three words into the song, Libby said "Hooway!" She's never said that before. I was so proud that she associated that word with the song!

Still trying to get her to say "mama". She said "mommy" the other day while playing, but when we tried to get her to say it while pointing to me she said "baby". She has been calling me "baby" for weeks. I should be glad she doesn't call me "cow" I guess!

I always know what kind of a mood my kids are in by the names they call me. Usually I'm Mommy, but if Camille is being extra sweet I get to be "Ballerina Princess Mommy."
