Jaina is one month old today. One month since the cops came banging on my door as I pushed her into this world. That scenario is one that will bring a smile to my face for years to come. I mean, how many people can claim to have had the cops come and ask them to "please be a little quieter, the neighbors are trying to sleep"? It just cracks me up. The other day I ran into our neighbor and asked her if she ever hears Jaina crying. She said no and asked if we ever hear her 20-month-old throw his huge temper tantrums. No, so did she hear me when I was giving birth? She said "No, I didn't hear anything. And if I did, I knew you were going to be having the baby at home, so it wouldn't have bothered me. I didn't even know you had had her until a few days after when our friend who is a police officer (he lives on the first floor of our bulding and doubles as a "courtesy officer" when he's not working) told us about having to come to your apartment because the guy under you complained." Ah-hah! I know who it was now, the dude who blasts his radio every day while I'm trying to rest calls to complain about a few yells. Now I don't feel bad when Libby jumps up and down in my bedroom at 6:30 in the morning!
Anyway, she's a month old. I took her to Dr. Chartrand Monday for her hospital follow-up (everything is wonderful) and we did her one-month check then as well. She weighs 11 1/2 pounds! Holy cow! She's growing well, eating well, sleeping well, and is just plain wonderful.

(She's yawning, not screaming)
In all of last week's hospital bruhaha, we completely skipped Libby's birthday. I'm not sure when we will get around to celebrate, but I will be posting her birthday post sometime soon. Mom's as well, since they share a birthday. So stay tuned!
