(I'm not quite sure why all of this is underlined, and I can't figure out how to make it go away) So after two weeks of Scaddens, it was time for some Souths. We all met up at our beautiful (and quite large) beachhouse at Topsail Beach, NC. Every member of John's family was there, except for Ann's husband who had work obligations. Our house was right on the beach, and there was room for all 29 of us. Mine and John's room had an ocean view. So nice to wake up to the ocean each morning.
Libby LOVED the beach. She wanted to be out at all times. The weather was gorgeous all week long. There were many walks, many, many talks, lots of good food, good movies, and best of all, good company. The children mostly all got along. Libby and Andrew had a few tiffs, but Joe and I figured out that if they each had a ping-pong ball in their hand, they would play quite nicely together.
Jaina went in the pool a couple times, but not in the ocean. We did take her down to the beach in the evenings and some during the day. Libby built many sandcastle, and flew a few kites. And John and I were even able to get in some boogie boarding.
Here are a few of my favorite pics from the beach.
Libby climbed out of bed and fell asleep trying to get into the chips ones afternoon.
Much thanks to Joyce for doing all the organizing and behind-the-scenes work in order to make this vacation a success. We had such an awesome time. Just the other day Libby found a swim diaper and said "Swim. Beach!" Seems like she had a good time as well :)
