Safe But Not Sound

John finally made it home safe on Thursday night after a weather-related 90-minute flight delay. I wanted John to get Libby a t-shirt from Hard Rock (I negletcted to tell him this want until after he ate there, though) but instead he brought...

The FLU.

Poor guy still has that stubborn fever, 104.2 on Friday morning. A call to Dr. Chartrand confirmed our suspiscion, and John was prescribed a treatment of bed rest and fluids for the next however long it takes for him to get better. Another call to his Project manager cancelled his trip to Atlanta next week. And a quick mental count also cancelled our hoped-for trip to NC for Christmas next year.

Holed up in the bedroom, alternately burning up and shaking with chills, John is a pitiful sight. Last night he kept me up with his hacking and blowing and throwing up (or trying to anyway). Tonight I think I'll sleep on the couch.

Libby is still cranky as heck and has diarrhea that given her a killer rash on her bum.

I have an 8-hour sitting job tonight. I'll be taking care of someone else's kid while mine is here at home with a husband who can barely sit up. Something is wrong with this picture.
