Wide Awake In America

Well, at least one of us is.

John got up around 3 am to get ready to leave for Atlanta. When he went out to eat some breakfast, Libby must have heard him and decided it was time for her to wake up as well. John heated up some milk and a rice sock (for her chest/cough) and I attempted to get her back to sleep. The airport shuttle arrived as I was rocking her, so I didn't get to say goodbye to my hubby :( After a little while, Libby's eyes started to droop and I started dreaming of my warm bed. Then her eyes popped open and she said "tee-toe!" and hopped off my lap and into her bed. I covered her up and went on to my bed. I was all sorts of awake, so I called John and talked to him on his way to the airport. Then Libby started crying again. No luck this time, she was awake for good. Great.

After a snack and a few episodes of Baby Einstein, Libby looked tired enough to attempt bed again. She fell asleep around 6 am. I staggered off to my bed for a blessed 2 hours of sleep before she woke up once again, ready to face the day. I feel like that time in high school when I stayed up all night writing a paper for Chemistry (who assign research papers for Chemistry class?). I'm hoping she takes a nice long nap.

John returns Thursday evening. It can't get here soon enough.

Reading this is making me feel tired for you. I'm sorry! Hopefully Libby will sleep well for you this afternoon. How's the pregnancy these days?

Bless your heart. Nothing worse than not enough sleep. I know what you mean about traveling hubbies. Cory hasn't traveled for a while now and I don't miss it a bit. Hope the time flies.
