Good News and Bad News (and yes, I'm still pregnant)

Bad news first:

Mom came down with a nasty bug yesterday and had to postpone her trip to come see us.

Good news:

Because of this postponement, Mom won't be here until after the baby is born and hopefully after I have had a week or so to lay in bed. This means we get to do fun stuff like shopping and go to the zoo and the aquarium instead of sitting on the couch staring at each other willing the baby to just get born already!

Also good:

The delay in her trip resulted in my being able to nix a huge project from my to-do list. So i was able to get my entire list completed (and a shower!) by 3 pm today. Things I accomplished:

I scrubbed the hall bathroom, which is more often called "Hobbit's Bathroom"

I mopped the hall bathroom and the kitchen

I did all the laundry and put it away (while watching Jungle Book with Libby)

I picked up every single room in the apartment

I vaccumed

I took apart the baby swing and the bassinet (which Libby uses for her "baby") and got them packed away in the storage closet so that when Mom does come, there will be room for me to move Libby's toys out of the sunroom and make the sunroom a "boudoir" for Mom (that would be the huge project I nixed from my list for the time being).

Libby helped a lot with the picking up, and even helped me unscrew the pieces of the bassinet. After each job we did together we gave each other high-fives. We had a really fun day cleaning together.

I'm a bit sore, my hands are a bit shaky from the scrubbing and mopping, but I took a cool shower and even broke out the loofah that's been hiding in my closet and used my shower gel for it's true purpose instead of as bubble bath. I smell all sweet now!

I'm sitting in bed, Libby is napping, and I have my windows open. Raining outside, a soft steady pouring rain that is wonderful to listen to and that brings with it a nice cool breeze.

I'm pretty pleased with myself. Can you tell?
