Happy Mother's Day (or: It's My Due Date and I'm Still Pregnant)

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Yesterday I woke up with a sore throat, congestion, cough, fever, and body aches. As the day went on I just felt worse. I had some pretty strong contractions in the morning, and my thought was "I just can't handle labor today". Thankfully, they went away after a nap in the bathtub. Yes, I fell asleep in the bath. With menthol bubbles to help me breathe. Isn't that the best?!

My fever finally broke around 3 this morning. Now I just have a little congestion and a phlegmy chest. I am feeling so much better than I was yesterday! Libby had a fever yesterday as well and woke up coughing and snotty, so we stayed home from church. We did go for a short walk this morning to get some fresh air. Cranky and tired, Libby went down a little early for her nap, and John and I followed suit.

After nap time we hung out until John started making dinner: gorgeously delicious rib-eye steaks, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, and canteloupe (well, I did the canteloupe and corn, but he did the steaks and they were awesome!). Libby sang her "Meat Song" (me, me, me, me) while we got the table set and I prepared her plate. I've never seen a toddler love steak as much as she does. Watch out Boys, she has expensive taste!

While dinner was cooking one of our Home Teachers dropped by with some tortilla soup his wife made. He knew we were sick and wanted to do something nice for us. Our home teachers (and their wives) are pretty great. So now I have lunch all set for tomorrow.

After dinner John and I did the dishes then we sat and played with Libby until it was her bedtime. We tried to watch a movie after he put her to bed, but it was keeping her awake so we turned it off and are just hanging out for a while until she is good and asleep, and then we will resume our film.

My sister in law came to town Friday to spend the week with her dad who lives about 30 minutes north of us. She'll be coming over to hang out tomorrow and watch the Survivor finale with me on the computer. I'm hoping I can convince her to take me grocery shopping as well, since that didn't get done yesterday like it should have. I'm excited to get to see her this week, and I hope she gets to see Sprout before she goes home!

So it was a good, relaxing day for me. I hope you all had a great day too!
