Today I found the commercial-free, all-Christmas-music-all-the-time station on my kitchen radio. I planned to just have it as background music while I laid on the couch and felt sorry for my sleep-deprived self. But Christmas music just gets my blood going and I couldn't just lay there, I had to
do something. So I decided to decorate. I was thinking I may not even get around to decorating - we aren't getting a tree, we have like two presents for Libby - what's the point? Oh yeah, and the decorations are buried in the storage closet behind to HUGE boxes of junk. Never underestimate the strength and determination of a pregnant woman on a mission! The boxes of junk were quickly unpacked, the boxes taken out of the closet, the junk put in the closet, and the decorations were up in no time! Easy, since I only have a few, so I focused on the living room and dining room. So, the lights and stockings are hung on the mantel, the Christmas placemats and Light Tower are on the table, and various other decorations and books are scattered about. Since we don't have a tree, I hung lights over the sunroom windows. A bit tacky, but festive :)

Those are little stockings stuck up-side down on the cat's ears. Sorry about that Dad, but I figure that compared to love beads and flower stickers the stockings are pretty benign :)
Once that was done I decided that now that the sunroom is empty, I could go ahead and turn it into the playroom we had originally planned it to be. Before I could do that, I had to scrub years of dirt off the little table and chairs for Libby. A little bit of Ajax and a scrub brush in the tub later, and the play area is (almost) complete. All it needs now are some shelves and baskets for various books and toys, but that purchase is going to have to wait a few months.

The reason for moving all toys out of the bedroom is that Libby drags them all out into the living room anyway, so now I can clean while she sleeps, which means the room will actually stay clean for a while. Also, since Libby and the new baby will be sharing a room, I wanted a space where Libby could play while her sibling sleeps in the bedroom.
It was a busy, but very productive morning, and
now I can sit on the couch and relax and listen to Christmas music!

It is looking good! When did you get rid of the boxes? I haven't much been into the Christmas spirit, but I'm trying! I have not even begun to start Christmas shopping for my kids yet, and I have no idea what and when I'm going to do it, I just don't much feel like it, terrible, eh?
Your house looks great!

What is it about being pregnant and on a mission. I used to drive Tyler nuts with my antics.
I'm way impressed!!! That's a full day's work, even if you weren't pregnant. It looks so festive, though. :) Merry Christmas!
